About Ragdolls
Ragdolls originated in California, USA in the 1960's and were bred by Ann Baker from a foundation cat called "Josephine" who was mated to a Birman and a Burmese to produce the foundation stock.  This offspring became known as the "Ragdoll".

The name "Ragdoll" was chosen because of their ability to relax and "flop" when picked up.  Just like a ragdoll.

The first Ragdolls came to Australia in 1989 and were imported by 2 Tasmanian Breeders.  The breed has become increasingly popular because of their laid back nature and lovely placid personality.

New colours have been developed and Ragdolls are now bred in Solid, Torti and Tabby Patterns.

We breed seal and blue ragdolls in mitted, point and bi-colour patterns, and will soon be breeding chocolate and lilacs.

BREED DESCRIPTION
