RAGDOLL HISTORY
Ragdolls originated in California, USA in the 1960's and were bred by Ann Baker from a foundation cat called "Josephine" who was mated to a Birman and a Burmese to produce the foundation stock. This offspring became known as the "Ragdoll".
The name "Ragdoll" was chosen because of their ability to relax and "flop" when picked up. Just like a ragdoll.
The first Ragdolls came to Australia in 1989 and were imported by 2 Tasmanian Breeders. The breed has become increasingly popular because of their laid back nature and lovely placid personality.
New colours have been developed and Ragdolls are now bred in Torti and Lynx Patterns.
We breed Seal and Blue ragdolls in Mitted, Point, Bi-colour patterns and Lynx in these patterns.
BREED DESCRIPTION
